Over the last five years, for example, 47% of the survey’s participants hadn’t updated their home’s decor. About nine percent hadn’t done so for over ten years. This may come as a surprise, especially since the survey also revealed that just 20% of Americans are happy with their interior design. Another 4% of the participants actually claimed that their furnishings caused them to feel gloomy and stressed.

Whether it’s been a while since you’ve upgraded your home’s decor or you do so often, there’s a good chance your recognize the importance of change. All it takes sometimes is to look at a few new pieces of furniture, such as living rooms sets, to become inspired. If you’ve already purchased one of your favorite living room sets, then you may want to move on to your den’s furniture. Do you have a favorite comfy reading chair in this space? Since there are so many different styles of home decor, you may want to take a moment to consider your personality and lifestyle. Which of the above styles resonate with your unique personality and tastes? A combination, perhaps? There’s a good chance that you have a signature style, and you want this to be reflected throughout your home’s interior and exterior spaces.

A consumer survey was conducted with more than 2,000 people. It’s interesting to note the percentage of participants that agreed with these statements about furniture:

  • ?The design of my furniture reflects my personality.”: 72.7%
  • ?A lot can be said about a person from the furniture s/he owns.”: 67%
